On behalf of Crème de la Crème Talent Unlimited, it is our pleasure to welcome you and your family to this exciting journey. We are honored that you have chosen to be a part of our pageant family.

Your participation represents more than entering a competition—it reflects your courage, confidence, dedication, and willingness to grow. Each contestant brings her own unique personality, talents, culture, and aspirations, making this celebration a true reflection of the beauty and diversity of the Caribbean.

Our goal is to provide every contestant with an unforgettable experience that encourages self-confidence, leadership, sportsmanship, cultural pride, and lifelong friendships. While crowns and titles are awarded, we believe every contestant leaves with something even more valuable—new experiences, lasting memories, and personal growth.

As you prepare for the pageant, we encourage you to enjoy every moment, embrace the experience, support one another, and always be yourself. Remember that true beauty shines through confidence, kindness, respect, and character.

To help ensure a positive, fair, and enjoyable experience for everyone, we ask that you carefully read and become familiar with the rules, policies, and expectations outlined in this handbook, along with the accompanying application and required forms.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Contestants must be between the ages of 8-12 as of April 01, 2027.
  • Provide a copy of your birth certificate and two photos: One full body and one headshot.

Code of Conduct:

The Miss E’Ssence of the Caribbean Pageant is committed to providing a positive, respectful, and supportive environment for everyone involved. All contestants, parents, guardians, chaperones, coaches, camp members, family members, volunteers, committee members, and guests are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the values and integrity of Crème de la Crème Talent Unlimited.

The following standards of conduct apply throughout the pageant season, including rehearsals, meetings, workshops, appearances, social media activity, pageant events, and all activities associated with the organization.

Expectations
  • Treat all contestants, parents, committee members, volunteers, judges, sponsors, vendors, and guests with courtesy, dignity, and respect.

  • Demonstrate good sportsmanship, professionalism, honesty, and integrity at all times.

  • Refrain from the use of profanity, bullying, intimidation, threats, gossip, harassment, discrimination, or any behavior that creates a hostile or disruptive environment.

  • Respect the decisions of the judges, directors, and committee members. All judging decisions are final.

  • Any falsification or misrepresentation of a contestant’s eligibility, age, residency, or any required information will result in immediate disqualification without refund. Any titles, awards, scholarships, prizes, or other recognitions received must be surrendered.

  • Contestants are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful, age-appropriate, and lady-like manner while maintaining high moral and ethical standards throughout their reign.

  • All participants and their entourages are expected to follow the policies, procedures, and instructions established by Crème de la Crème Talent Unlimited.

Concerns and Grievances

Should any concern, misunderstanding, or issue arise during the pageant or any affiliated event, contestants, parents, chaperones, coaches, or camp members must immediately bring the matter to the attention of the Executive Director, Assistant Director, or an authorized committee member. Under no circumstances should concerns be addressed through confrontations, arguments, social media, or other public forums.

Violations

Any unruly, disruptive, unsportsmanlike, disrespectful, abusive, threatening, or otherwise unbecoming conduct by a contestant or any member of her entourage—including parents, guardians, chaperones, coaches, camp members, family members, or guests—may result in disciplinary action at the sole discretion of Crème de la Crème Talent Unlimited.

Disciplinary action may include, but is not limited to:

  • Verbal or written warning.

  • Removal from a specific activity or event.

  • Immediate dismissal from the pageant or related activities without refund.

  • Disqualification from competition.

  • Revocation of titles, awards, scholarships, prizes, and future participation privileges.

Crème de la Crème Talent Unlimited reserves the right to take any action deemed necessary to preserve the safety, integrity, professionalism, and reputation of the organization and to ensure a positive experience for all participants.

Social Media & Online Conduct

All contestants, parents, guardians, chaperones, coaches, camp members, family members, and supporters are expected to use social media responsibly and respectfully throughout the pageant season and during a titleholder’s reign.

The following behaviors are strictly prohibited on any social media platform, website, messaging application, email, text message, or other form of electronic communication:

  • Bullying, cyberbullying, harassment, intimidation, or threats.
  • Posting, sharing, or commenting on false, misleading, or defamatory information about contestants, parents, judges, committee members, volunteers, sponsors, or Crème de la Crème Talent Unlimited.
  • Using social media to insult, embarrass, humiliate, ridicule, or deliberately damage the reputation of any individual or the organization.
  • Encouraging others to participate in negative comments, online attacks, or public disputes.
  • Sharing confidential pageant information, internal communications, or private matters without authorization.
  • Posting content that is vulgar, discriminatory, hateful, abusive, or otherwise inconsistent with the values and standards of Crème de la Crème Talent Unlimited.

Concerns or disagreements regarding the pageant must be addressed directly with the Executive Director or an authorized committee member and not through social media or other public forums.

Any contestant or member of her entourage found to have engaged in cyberbullying, online harassment, defamation, or any conduct that damages the reputation of another participant or Crème de la Crème Talent Unlimited may be subject to disciplinary action, including dismissal from the pageant, disqualification, title revocation, forfeiture of awards or prizes, and/or suspension from future participation. Crème de la Crème Talent Unlimited reserves the right to determine whether online conduct violates this Code of Conduct.

Contestant & Chaperone Requirements:

Selecting a Chaperone

When selecting a chaperone, parents/guardians should choose someone who is responsible, dependable, and capable of caring for the contestant throughout the competition. The chaperone must be able to assist with dressing and wardrobe changes, keep the contestant on schedule, follow all pageant rules and instructions, communicate effectively with committee members, and provide a positive, respectful, and supportive environment throughout the event.

Please Note: On the day of the pageant, parents/guardians and camp members will not be permitted in the dressing area to assist contestants with dressing or wardrobe changes. Therefore, the selected chaperone must be familiar with the contestant’s outfits and able to dress and assist the contestant independently without assistance from a parent/guardian or camp member.
  • A Chaperone/Pageant Coach will be required to accompany and escort the contestants to rehearsals, training events and “ALL” pageant activities.
  • Photoshoot: A date to TBA
  • All contestants MUST attend ALL pageant rehearsals ON TIME.

  • All pageant rehearsals will be closed to anyone not participating in the pageant.

  • Contestants are required to attend ALL activities and arrive at SCHEDULED times.

  • On pageant day, Only pageant officials, contestants, and their approved chaperones will be permitted backstage.

Dressing Room Policy

 For the safety, privacy, and organization of all contestants, parents/guardians will not be permitted or allowed inside the dressing rooms at any time during rehearsals, preparation, or the event

Each contestant must have one designated chaperone/coach selected by the parent or guardian. The selected chaperone/coach must be capable, comfortable, and prepared to assist the contestant with dressing, changing outfits, and any necessary preparation without parental assistance.   Parents/guardians acknowledge that by selecting a chaperone/coach, they are entrusting that individual to provide the required support and assistance to their contestant during dressing room activities

Hair and Makeup:

  • Crème de La Crème Talent Unlimited, LLC will provide Make-Up and Hair Artist in the dressing area the day of the pageant.

  • Contestant should have their hair and make-up prep by their own stylist before the show and the Hair and Makeup Stylist that will be provided will just do the finishing touches.

Media and Publicity:

Media Release
  • Contestants grant Crème de la Crème Talent Unlimited, LLC the right to use their name, likeness, photographs, and videos for promotional, advertising, marketing, and social media purposes without additional compensation.
  • Interviews and media interactions should be conducted respectfully and in a manner that reflects the values, mission, and image of Crème de la Crème Talent Unlimited.
Official Appearances & Public Events
  • All public appearances, community events, media engagements, parades, pageants, and other outings attended by the reigning Little Miss E’Ssence and Miss E’Ssence Queens in their official capacity must be approved in advance by the Board of Directors of Crème de la Crème Talent Unlimited.
  • Requests for approval must be submitted at least fourteen (14) calendar days prior to the event. Each request must include the event name, date, time, location, purpose, dress code (if applicable), and the name and contact information of the event organizer.
  • The Board reserves the right to approve or deny any appearance request based on scheduling, safety, appropriateness, and whether the event aligns with the mission and values of Crème de la Crème Talent Unlimited.The Executive Director and/or Board of Directors reserve the right to require a chaperone, committee member, or designated representative to accompany a reigning queen to any approved appearance whenever deemed necessary.
  • Unauthorized appearances while wearing the official crown, sash, title, or otherwise representing the organization may result in disciplinary action, including suspension of appearance privileges or forfeiture of the title, at the discretion of the Board.

Organization Rights & Liability

Crème de la Crème Talent Unlimited reserves the right to amend, modify, interpret, add to, or delete any rule, policy, or regulation contained in this contract whenever deemed necessary to ensure the safety, fairness, integrity, and successful operation of the pageant. Reasonable notice of significant changes will be provided whenever practicable.

Crème de la Crème Talent Unlimited reserves the right to change the date, time, or location of the pageant or any official pageant activity due to unforeseen circumstances or circumstances beyond the organization’s control.

Contestants, parents/legal guardians, chaperones, coaches, and representatives agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Crème de la Crème Talent Unlimited, its Executive Director, Board of Directors, committee members, volunteers, sponsors, judges, venue staff, and all persons affiliated with the pageant from any claims, liability, loss, damage, injury, accident, or expense that may occur during pageant activities, rehearsals, appearances, travel arranged by the organization, or any other official pageant event, except where prohibited by applicable law.

Awards Ceremony & Stage Etiquette

Upon the Announcement of the Winners

To ensure a professional, organized, and respectful awards presentation, all contestants, parents, coaches, and guests must adhere to the following procedures:

  • All contestants are required to remain on stage until the official awards presentation and photography session have been completed. No contestant may leave the stage until dismissed by the Executive Director or an authorized committee member.
  • Parents, family members, coaches, camp representatives, sponsors, and audience members will not be permitted on stage immediately following the announcement of the winners.
  • Only Crème de la Crème Talent Unlimited committee members, pageant officials, and the official photographer and videographer are authorized to be on stage during the awards presentation and official photography session.
  • Contestants are expected to maintain good sportsmanship, professionalism, and respectful conduct throughout the awards ceremony, regardless of the competition results.
  • Once the official photographs have been completed and contestants have been formally dismissed by the Executive Director or an authorized committee member, family members and guests may then come forward to congratulate contestants and take personal photographs.

Prize Distribution & Titleholder Responsibilities

Prize Distribution

Crème de la Crème Talent Unlimited is committed to recognizing and rewarding its titleholders through prizes, awards, gifts, sponsorships, and incentives.

Because many prizes are generously donated or provided through sponsorships, all prizes will be distributed within six (6) months of the official pageant date, unless otherwise specified by the sponsoring individual or organization.

The organization will make every reasonable effort to distribute prizes as they become available. However, Crème de la Crème Talent Unlimited shall not be held responsible for delays resulting from sponsors, donors, vendors, shipping, scheduling, or circumstances beyond the organization’s control.

The Executive Director and/or Board of Directors reserve the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value should a donated or sponsored prize become unavailable.

No cash equivalent will be provided for donated prizes, gifts, services, or sponsorships that become unavailable due to circumstances beyond the control of Crème de la Crème Talent Unlimited.


Titleholder Responsibilities

As an official representative of Crème de la Crème Talent Unlimited, each reigning titleholder agrees to:

  • Conduct herself with honesty, integrity, professionalism, and respect at all times.
  • Serve as a positive role model within her family, school, community, and while representing the organization.
  • Maintain behavior that reflects positively on Crème de la Crème Talent Unlimited both in person and on social media.
  • Attend official appearances, community events, promotional activities, rehearsals, meetings, and other functions as requested or approved by the Executive Director and/or Board of Directors, unless excused in advance.
  • Wear the official crown, sash, and title only at Board-approved appearances or with prior authorization from the Executive Director and/or Board of Directors.
  • Promptly communicate with the Executive Director or designated committee member regarding scheduling conflicts or circumstances that may affect participation.
  • Treat fellow contestants, titleholders, committee members, sponsors, volunteers, judges, and members of the public with courtesy, kindness, and respect at all times.

Good Standing

To remain eligible to receive prizes, awards, sponsorships, gifts, and incentives, each titleholder must remain in good standing with Crème de la Crème Talent Unlimited by complying with all rules, policies, and responsibilities outlined in this contract throughout her reign.


Failure to Fulfill Responsibilities

Failure to comply with the rules, policies, or responsibilities outlined in this contract, including but not limited to misconduct, unauthorized appearances, failure to participate in required activities without prior approval, or any actions deemed detrimental to the reputation of Crème de la Crème Talent Unlimited, may result in disciplinary action, including:

  • Written warning.
  • Suspension of appearance privileges.
  • Delay or forfeiture of prizes, awards, sponsorships, gifts, or incentives.
  • Removal of the official crown, sash, and title.
  • Disqualification from future Crème de la Crème Talent Unlimited events.

All disciplinary decisions shall be made solely at the discretion of the Executive Director and/or Board of Directors and shall be considered final.

Judging Criteria

All contestants will be evaluated by a panel of qualified judges selected by Crème de la Crème Talent Unlimited. Judges are chosen based on their experience, professionalism, integrity, and ability to evaluate contestants fairly and impartially.

Contestants will be scored according to the criteria established for their division. Judging categories may include, but are not limited to:

  • Introduction/Speech

  • Island Getaway Wear

  • Project Runway Wear
  • Talent Presentation

  • Evening Wear

  • On-Stage Question

  • Contestants will be evaluated on qualities such as confidence, poise, personality, communication skills, stage presence, appearance, talent, and their ability to represent the mission and values of Crème de la Crème Talent Unlimited.
  • All judging is based solely on each contestant’s performance during the official competition. Previous titles, affiliations, friendships, sponsorships, or personal relationships shall not influence the judges’ decisions.
  • Judges will receive written scoring criteria and instructions before the competition to ensure consistency and fairness throughout the event.
  • The tabulation of scores will be conducted by designated tabulators appointed by Crème de la Crème Talent Unlimited. All score sheets and tabulation records shall remain the property of Crème de la Crème Talent Unlimited.
  • The Executive Director and/or Board of Directors reserve the right to make administrative decisions regarding contestant eligibility, rule interpretations, scoring procedures, or unforeseen circumstances that may arise before, during, or after the competition.
  • Any attempt by a contestant, parent, family member, coach, sponsor, or representative to influence, intimidate, harass, or communicate with a judge regarding the outcome of the competition may result in disciplinary action, including disqualification of the contestant.
  • All judging information, score sheets, comments, deliberations, and tabulations are confidential and will not be released unless otherwise determined by the Executive Director and/or Board of Directors.

Judging Decisions

  • All decisions made by the official panel of judges are final and binding.
  • Scores, placements, titles, special awards, and all competition results are based solely on the judges’ evaluations and the official tabulation of scores.
  • Crème de la Crème Talent Unlimited will not reconsider, alter, or overturn judges’ decisions once the results have been officially announced.
  • Judges’ score sheets, comments, deliberations, and tabulation records are confidential and remain the property of Crème de la Crème Talent Unlimited.
  • Contestants, parents, coaches, family members, sponsors, and supporters are expected to respect the judges’ decisions and conduct themselves in a courteous and sportsmanlike manner throughout and following the competition.
  • Any disrespectful behavior, harassment, intimidation, or attempts to challenge, influence, or confront judges or pageant officials regarding the competition results may result in disciplinary action, including disqualification from future Crème de la Crème Talent Unlimited events.
Review of Score Sheets
  • Parents or legal guardians may request a copy of their contestant’s official score sheet(s) for review.
  • Requests must be submitted in writing to the Executive Director no earlier than thirty (30) days after the official pageant date.
  • To protect the confidentiality and impartiality of the judging process, the names and signatures of all judges will be redacted prior to the release of any score sheets.
  • Only the requesting contestant’s score sheet(s) will be provided. Score sheets, comments, and results pertaining to any other contestant will remain strictly confidential.
  • The release of score sheets is provided for informational purposes only. The official results of the competition remain final and are not subject to appeal, reconsideration, or modification.

Withdrawal and Financial Responsibility Clause:

By submitting this application and entering my daughter into the Little Miss E’Ssence of the Caribbean competition, I, the undersigned parent or guardian of the contestant, understand and agree to the following conditions regarding the withdrawal of my child from the competition:

Withdrawal After First Official Outing: Should I decide to withdraw my child from the competition after the first official outing and before the final show, I agree to reimburse Little Miss E’Ssence of the Caribbean for all expenses incurred on behalf of my child. This includes, but is not limited to, any costs related to

  • Costumes
  • Accessories
  • Administrative costs

Any other expenses directly related to my child’s participation in the competition

Sponsor and Fundraiser Contributions: If my child is withdrawn after the first official outing, I also agree to return any monies raised through sponsors or fundraisers for my child’s participation. This includes

  • Cash donations
  • Sponsorships in kind
  • Fundraising proceeds

Payment Terms: The reimbursement of expenses and return of sponsor/fundraiser contributions must be made within thirty (30) days of withdrawal. Failure to comply with this clause may result in legal action and/or additional charges as deemed necessary by the organizers of Little Miss Essence of the Caribbean.

Acknowledgment:  I have read, and agree to the terms and conditions stated in this Withdrawal and Financial Responsibility Clause. I understand the financial implications and agree to adhere to these terms.

Areas of Competition

  • Each Contestant is required to participate in a Opening Number {Presentation}, Island Getaway Wear, Project Runway Wear, Princess Ball Evening Wear, Talent and Question and Answer.

     

  • Props Rule: Props will only be allowed in the Talent Segment and must be made strictly from foam or cardboard for safety and easy handling.

  • Contestant are responsible for their Island Getaway Wear, Project Runway Wear, Princess Ball Evening Wear, and Talent Attire.                                                                    (SEGMENTS MAYBE SUBJECT TO CHANGE)

Presentation

Each Contestant will introduce herself at the beginning of the pageant. This introduction serves as an opportunity to showcase her personality, and make a positive first impression on the judges and the audience. The presentation will focus on poise, diction & voice clarity, content of self and facial and body expressions.

Island Getaway Wear 

Each contestant will model an outfit that represents a fun and youthful Caribbean getaway. Outfits may include bright sundresses, playful rompers, skirts with tops, or coordinated sets with island flair. Looks should be age-appropriate, colorful, and comfortable, reflecting the joy of a sunny vacation. The Island Getaway Wear segment will focus on creativity, appropriateness, coordination, stage presence, and confidence.

(Time Limit (3) mins.)

Project Runway Wear

Each Contestant will create an outfit using unconventional materials. Utilizing less than 30% of any fabric. Fabric should be used as a base and not a main part of your outfit. Fabric should not be noticeable. The Project Runway Wear will focus on creativity, concept presentation, clothing coordination, fashion technique and poise.

*Contestants must provide the music and voiceovers for this segment one week before the show.

Examples of unconventional materials: Trash bags, balloons, straws, bottle caps, cans, paper products etc.

P.S. Pinterest is a great place to look for clothing made from unconventional materials.

Talent

Talent may consist of singing, dancing, poetry, playing an instrument, acting in a skit, etc. This category is judged on execution, technical skill level, confidence, on stage personality, Interpretation of the selection, originality, creativity, effectiveness of opening and finale and total impact of the performance. NO fire acts will be allowed. If music is needed for the performance Contestants must provide the music for this segment one week before the show.

Time Limit: 5 mins.

Judging Criteria:

  •  Creativity/Quality of Performance
  •  Stage Confidence
  •  Clarity

Princess Ball Evening Wear 

Each contestant will model an evening gown fit for a young princess attending a royal ball. Gowns may include flowing skirts, satin or tulle fabrics, lace overlays, or delicate embellishments such as sequins, bows, or floral appliqués. Designs should be modest, age-appropriate, and reflect the fairytale magic of a royal occasion while highlighting the contestant’s individuality. Time Limit: 5 mins.

Question & Answer:

Each contestant will participate in the Question & Answer segment, designed to showcase her ability to think quickly, express herself clearly, and demonstrate confidence on stage. Contestants will be asked age-appropriate questions related to everyday life, personal values, or light current topics suitable for their age group.

Judging Criteria:

  •  Knowledge Of Subject Matter
  • Diction Grammer & Voice Clarity
  • Facial & Body Expression

Voting Segment: Miss Popularity

Each contestant will have the opportunity to sell votes for the title of Miss Popularity. To qualify, each contestant must sell a minimum of $75.00 worth of votes.

  • Voting Fee: $3.00 per vote. Supporters may vote as many times as they wish through the official voting app (TBA).

  • Voting Period: Dates (TBA). Votes outside this period will not be counted or refunded.

  • All Sales Final: No refunds or exchanges after payment is processed.

  • Code of Conduct: Contestants and supporters must maintain respect and fair play. Any unethical practices may result in disqualification.

  • Results: Announced during the Little Miss E’Ssence of the Caribbean Pageant. The contestant with the highest number of valid votes will be crowned Miss Popularity.

  • Final Decisions: All decisions by the organizers regarding voting, disqualifications, and awards are final.
